GeekGirlCon 2012

I am honored to announce that I have been asked to be a guest at GeekGirlCon 2012.  I will be speaking about the impact of domestic violence in our society and what 'Everyday Heroes' can do to help bring an end to this silent and vicious crime.

'GeekGirlCon is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting awareness of and celebrating the contribution and involvement of women in all aspects of the sciences, science fiction, comics, gaming and related Geek culture through conventions and events that emphasize both historic and ongoing contribution and influence of women in this culture.'

I will also talk about being the only female in an all male crime fighting movement known as the Rain City Superheroes, founded by my crime fighting partner Phoenix Jones.  As Seattle's 'Shero' I take great responsibility and pride in representing women and standing up for women, men, and children.  Victims of violent crime have someone they can count on, whether they have suffered in the privacy of their own homes or out on the public streets.  There are many ways for people of all skill sets to actively participate in crime prevention and it is my goal to see bystanders become 'Everyday Heroes'.

GeekGirlCon has just announced their first set of guests on their website www.geekgirlcon.com and in their press release. It is an honor to be featured as a guest along side talented women such as Jane Espenson, Gail Simone, and more.

Woah! Way to go Purple, I can't wait! Sounds like a good time. Thank you for the introduction to Geek Girl Con. It sounds like something my friends and I will really enjoy. Cant wait to hear about your crime fighting adventures too.

Every time I tell someone new about GGC they get just as excited as I am. It will be a fantastic time and I look forward to making new connections with other interesting women in the geek world :)

I love GeekGirlCon! Congrats Purple, you will be an awesome addition to the lineup this year.

Thanks Angela! The line up this year is amazing and there are so many awesome guests announced already. I can't wait to hear who else will be attending.

I'm the Twitter admin for GeekGirlCon and I was overjoyed to hear of your addition to our guest list. I met you and Phoenix briefly at the Mona Foundation benefit and you both were made of win. You are an inspiration to women everywhere and I'm so very pleased you'll be passing on your wisdom! Keep on keeping on, sister!

Thank you Kristine! The Mona Foundation benefit with Rainn Wilson was a great success and fun time. I am overjoyed to be apart of GeekGirlCon too! Hopefully we'll get the chance to run into you again before this summer!
